Description
Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe (Jun 14, 1811 – Jul 1, 1896) was an American author and a member of abolitionists movement. She is mostly known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852), devoted to harshness of life of slaves. This novel has a massive social resonance across US and Britain, provoked slavers’ wrath in the south and fueled anti-slavery-movements in the north.
Hum, the Son of Buz is a short story by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Rye Beach was a perfect place to spend vacation. Sun, fresh sea air and complete idleness – everything that is needed for some good and healthy rest was there. But this time Mother Nature had to blow off some steam herself, and so a storm fell on the beach, ruining a perfect day for sunbathing. And humans were not only ones to be unhappy with it.
